The fourth

So we are approaching our nation's birthday which oddly has me wondering a few things. Why do we use fireworks? And why do we have parades? Why do we cook out? I'm guessing the fireworks may represent the war we fought for our freedom but it's still kind of a strange thing to celebrate with nonetheless. The parade I suppose could be to honor the people who fought (and are still fighting) for our freedom. Cooking our brings us together ith people we care about and hold dear to our heart. These may be some answers be I still feel that they are odd rituals if you look at it from the outside. I've never really thought about these things too much, most likely due to the fact that I, like most Americans, am too wrapped up in these events to think about it. Just a little bit of food for thought.
