I'm liberal, except with guns
Why is it that people always point the finger at a gun used in a crime? no one seems to look at the person that did it. they need a scapegoat. it was the video games. it was the child hood. it was the gun or other weapons he used. no. it was a crazy person, who happened to use these items. had he used a nail gun to kill people would they ban those? i doubt it. had he used a water gun with chemicals in it would they ban a water gun? i doubt it. the fact is the PERSON is to blame. not the gun. not the victims. not the companies that sold the weapons. it lies completely on the person. crimes will be committed by criminals. thus their name. Most people drive half way decent, therefore they are allowed to drive even tho some people are morons and shouldn't be allowed to drive ever. MOST gun owners are very careful, very serious, and very well trained on their respective weapons. We all can see how well banning narcotics is going, they aren't on the streets at all. making drugs illegal has worked very well........oh wait that's right. we are the highest consuming nation of illegal drugs. hmm, guess regulation of those items didn't keep them off the streets. what makes people feel that stricter gun laws will do anything. all they do is make these shootings easier for the criminals. Allow the innocent people to have no defense while the criminals have the assault riffles. States such as California that don't allow you to carry a weapon that is loaded have completely distracted the people from the fact that they have taken away their second amendment. A gun with no ammo in it is about as useful as a billy club. Actually, I take that back. I think a billy club would be better. It's sick that we, as Americans, can sit back and watch tragedies brain wash us to think gun control laws need to be stricter. I guess my point is that people will do bad things because they are a bad person, not because of the tools they used. If they can't do it one way, they will find another. Let's not let tragedies such as the theatre shooting in Aurora, CO place a veil over our eyes and hide the facts from the propaganda.
